The Rim Chiang Mai

The reception area was beautiful and a good place to sit for a meal and a drink whatever the weather. The pool area was lovely too. Food very good and good choice at breakfast. Location a little out of town so you need to order a taxi or tuktuk from the reception each time you need to go out but they do also have bicycles if you want to use those. I loved the fact the hotel is built into the forest as it makes for a more natural feel. Staff very helpful and attentive.

We stayed at The Rim for 2 weeks and could have stayed forever. The staff are delightful, helpful and polite. Our room was spotless every day and we were very very happy there. The restaurant is great value for money with well-cooked, delicious meals. The bar is well priced with a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We will use The Rim as our go-to, home away from home every year. Would love to have insect screens on the doors so we could have doors open at night. Comfy, big bed. Great coffee facilities in the room. Australia channel on the TV- great for AFL season! Executive King Room.

From the moment I stepped into The Rim Chiang Mai, I knew I was in for something special. But what I didn’t realize was just how much I would miss this place and its people the moment I left. The architecture is a perfect blend of traditional Lanna elegance and modern comfort—every corner tells a story. The garden paths, the wooden beams, the serene pool area—it’s like living in a tranquil painting. But what truly brings The Rim to life is its people. The staff… oh, the staff. Every face I saw greeted me with the most genuine Thai smile. Warm, caring, always eager to help—whether it was the front desk making sure I had everything I needed, the housekeeping team greeting me with a “Sawasdee ka” every morning, or the restaurant crew remembering my coffee just the way I like it. It wasn’t just service—it was connection. Every interaction felt like family. They didn’t just provide hospitality; they shared it from the heart. They made me feel seen—and that’s rare. Whether I needed help with my plans for the day or just wanted to chat about the culture, there was always someone with a smile and an open heart. The rooms were spotless, with thoughtful touches and a calmness that made unwinding effortless. Breakfast was a dream—local delights with fresh fruit and the kind of coffee that gently nudges you into the day. When I think of Chiang Mai now, I think of more than temples and night markets—I think of The Rim, and the way it made me feel: cared for, calm, and completely at peace. I miss it already. And more than the beauty of the place, I miss the beautiful people. Thank you for the true Thai experience—I’ll be back, and until then, I carry your kindness with me. Khop Khun Ka, The Rim Family. The room, breakfast and location were all great! We especially liked the authentic Thai feel of the hotel while enjoying comfort and amenities. We also really appreciated all the complimentary snacks, water and mini bar items. Very generous! And the staff were so helpful in arranging anything we needed like transportation, shopping or tours.

As someone with some experience with various accommodation options in Chiang Mai , this is an all-round excellent choice, particularly for the first-timer. Great location on the edge of the old city, spacious comfortable rooms, (surprisingly) excellent food, a nice swimming pool, and small fitness room. Staff incredibly friendly and efficient. It’s all done calmly and effortlessly, which makes for a very relaxing time.
